Here's a little tip that I learned about some laptop batteries. After many years of use one of my laptops decided to have a battery problem. So I removed the battery, got the model number and checked around to see what a new one would cost. Amazon and other suppliers had what I needed at a very reasonable price, but for some reason I decided to reinstall the battery. Surprise, surprise the battery decided it wasn't done. So far it is working better than it has for some time. On this particular battery there is quite a complex plug grid and my guess is the low voltage battery and the plug grid over time might have less than a perfect connection. So my tip is to not assume your battery is shot and maybe once in awhile do a reinstall--just for the heck of it.
