9mm-P38 non Walther
« on: September 22, 2024, 01:22:33 PM »
Does anyone know where on the internet I could go to determine the origin of a P38. It apparently was not made by Walther because it does not have the Walther trademark. I would like to know when and where it was made. Thanks in advance for your help

Does the pistol have either AC, BYF, or CYQ stamped on it? Read especially the paragraph labeled variants.

Then depending on which letters. It was made by Walther, Mauser, or Spreewerk.

When I was stationed in Germany, many of the guys were buying up Lugers and Walthers....I shot along with them on the range, swapping guns
back and forth, tyrying each.  Of the two, I much preferred the Walther.

..But then of course, the Walther did replace the Luger.
