I like to be entertained, so I do watch a fair bit of cinema. However, from the comfort of my own chair. I got real tired of sticky floors and filthy theaters quite a number of years ago, so nowadays, I'll wait until the DVD comes out and buy it so that I can watch it multiple times. Yes, I've gotten a few "bombs", but overall, I've done ok with them.
The last flick I watched that was a "new" release was, like Moamonkey, "Top Gun Maverick", and even that was off of Netflix.
Now, I do like those that carry good life messages or lessons in the plot. To name a couple;
Cars....yes, animation, but the story line is pretty good, and the animation detail is outstanding. Yeah, it's produced by a less-than-exemplary company (Disney/Pixar), but that doesn't detract from the message(s) it sends.
Another is, (believe it or not), the "How To Train Your Dragon" series. Some more good life lessons for both adults and kids. The animation is good, and if it helps the younger set learn good civilized traits, so much the better. I understand there's going to be a remake of the first one released mid-2025 that will be a combo animation/real film, starring Gerard Butler, (from the "Has Fallen" trilogy) as Stoick the Vast. (He also did the voice in the animation film.)
IG.....I know you're pretty opinionated with some subjects, but if I may be so bold.......give those a try. I suggest you may just give them a nod, if not for the story line, at least for the life lessons delivered.
