Being perceptive...
« on: Yesterday at 11:14:37 AM »
My grandson is very much into exotic woods.  He has a lucrative and growing business in just that product..

His regular job is operating a distribution warehouse at a woodstove & fireplace supplies and equipment firm.

Proving that treasure is where you find it, he took a walk in the back yard..among all the pallets stored there, which are most often given away.

Now, most pallets are constructed overseas...that is why they are subjected to high heat before being shipped.

Here is a sample of figured wood found among "junk" pallets..Although he likely knows it, he doesn't mention the name of the wood, but you can see
the figure, right in the pile.

Sometimes he finds burls on old, fallen or ready to fall, local trees..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)
