Finally got my rifle!!
« on: March 28, 2004, 08:43:49 AM »
Some of you may remember my whining about my guns being gone so long. Well My 270 was returned on Tuesday along with my new barrels 223 bull, 45/70 and Huntsman. (By the way They received on Jan 26 I got it back on March 23).

I also asked a lot of questions while it was gone and they have all been answered.

I just got back from the range and shot almost 50 223's with moderate success. 20 270's and 20 45/70's and the Huntsman 5 times.

No "Premature ejeculations".

NO STICKING cases but I spent almost an hour cleaning each rifle.

No problem seeing the fiber optic sights on the Huntsman using the montecarlo stock. (IT is a good thing because the straight stock that I paid for did NOT come with my order.)

They replaced the 270 barrel due to chamber problems (Looked like there was a burr in the bit on the one they replaced every case that I shot in it had what looked like case separation. Even the factory loads.) But no Problems now.

You should have seen all the guys looking at me with envy as I changed barrels at a whim!! Oh by the way I also got a Storearm forearm and it has a knobbed screw so no need for a screw driver and makes the change quick.

More on the results of my loads later. Everything I shot was loaded while I was waiting on the rifle and I kind of a newbie.

Sorry to be so long winded but I was excited!!

RM - I had the same reaction at the range yesterday when I was changing barrels.  The other guys were waiting for their barrels to cool down, and I was just switching from .223 to .308!

I know exactly how you feel now that the long wait is over.  Have fun!
