I asked pretty much this same question several months ago, but with a new job I haven't had a chance to hang out here for most of those several months, so here goes again. Maybe a few more of ya'll have picked one of these up.

How many of you have one of these cool looking/feeling guns, and do they shoot as cool as they feel? Also, can you use it as a main match piece? By that, I mean is it SASS legal for main match, AND can you be competitive with it?

Im thinking of adding one as a second to my .45 Colt Uberti, mostly for cool factor, and my thought that a cowboy would prefer a smaller second gun to a full size second.

I have a pair of these guns in .45 LC. They shoot great. These guns seem to be either loved or hated by people. I love mine. Several of the top shooters around here use birdshead grips. If they fit your hand they are great. I think they are espectially good for shooting duelist although I have no trouble shooting them traditional either.

I been slobberin' all over the place since first saw one. Reckon the 45ACP cylinder will fit?

Ruger cylinder fit is an unknown. Sometimes they fit, sometimes they don't. Around here a lot of guys shoot Schofield cases in their .45's. The shorter Schofield cases aren't much longer than a .45 ACP and they have a rim so they work great. I know a few people who loat 160 grain bullets in those short cases and shoot them pretty fast.

f ya like 'em. If you like the feel of the birdshead grip, and I do, I think you will like them. I don't have one yet, but it is on my list!!

I have 2 birdsheads in .45 but they have the 4 5/8" inch barrels. I love them but many people don't like the way that they shoot so do try one before you buy one.
