this is a older break barrell 177. does anyone have any info on this. it was given to him by his grandfather and supposed to be pretty old it says made in Germany

The Winchester model 423 is a rebadged Diana model 23.
The date of manufacture should be stamped on the left side of the spring tube, toward the rear, above the trigger. The were sold only for a couple years in the early 1970s, about 73 or 74.
