Enough snow finally melted to give me room for a few sets for spring beaver.  Until today, the edge of the bank wasn't exposed because of the snow depth.  I put 3 castor mound sets in with #5 Coils on drowners but it's now raining and they should be out of commission by tomorrow.  Talk about a short season for spring beaver.  I can trap them in this area into April but once the snow in the woods begins to melt it will be flood city for the rest of the season.  Oh well, there's always next year.

Keep after them Rob.  I have caught more than a few beaver right on the shoulder of the road when the crick is ready to go over.  Look to the slow water areas, dead rivers or if you are just running bridges just go up the road ditch a little and make a set.  The beaver will find it.

One thing about the really high water in the spring.  If you wait for it to go down it will be too late.  The beaver are going to bit somewhat.
