Do you let your hats look like they were older than dirt or do you keep them a showroom new condition?

Older than and covered with DIRT!!......and sweat and gunpowder and fingerprints and who knows what......

Brand-new Stetson bought 3 years ago for $39.99 (close out at a local western shop) - I do get lucky sometimes!!

I wish I COULD keep them nice!  :roll:
But, I wear them for working outside in all weather and they get old fast.

You gotta treat hats the same as boots.  Start out as Sunday best, then rotate to every-day as they wear out, replacing with a new one.  That is, of course, unless you WANT to look rough!   :wink:

Hi.. I'm Big Hext and I'm a hat-a-holic.  :)

I have at least a dozen CAS hats.  From beaters to dress, sombreros to bowlers, straw to buffalo.  Depending on the impression I'm going for in dress, I will choose the hat accordingly.  My favorite hat is a Bailey American Bison.  Yep, real buffalo hair.  A couple of good rainstorms on it and it feels like it was made for my head.

In my everyday hats, for work and dress, I have four, two silverbelly and two black, one of each is aged and one is new.  Down here, you can't wear a gus crease when you work.. you'll get laughed outa town.

My only good hat (other than an Indiana Jones Fedora - that doesn't count) is a Bailey Wrangler that I bought at a yard sale for $12.  It is almost new as the only time I wear it is for shooting.  I has the three uniform and parralell creases.  I would like to change it to the 'pinch' type like 'Hoss' wore on Bonanza.  Any ideas?  44 Man

Go to any good Western Wear store that sells hats and has a STEAM Hat Blocker.  You might be surprised what they can do......
