How well do the 25/06 in 15" shoot?
« on: March 23, 2004, 12:36:16 PM »
Anyone have one and what do you think of it? What bullet weight shoots best and what kind of accuracy are you getting at 100 yard. Thinking of getting one for an all around caliber. I've shot them in 7/08, 308, and 30/06, so recoil isn't a factor. Thanks for any opinions! ~~ raynor

Looks like nobody has an Encore pistol in 25/06. I picked one up today, thing is awesome.    No where near the recoil I was expecting, just a push with no muzzle jump hardly at all. Haven't shot it for groups yet, but looks like it'll definately be a keeper.

So far I've shot handloads using RE-7 and IMR 4198, both using 87 grain Sierra's. Soon as I have more range time with it, I'll post  results. ~~ raynor

HI SILVER V,how you been?hope that TC works out for you.im sure it will.i ordered a G2 Contender frame but its not here yet.i need a straight walled case so i can hunt with it here in Michigan in the shotgun zone.dont know what cal i will get yet.i think it will be a 44mag.they make it in the 45-70 but i think the recoil will be to much.the brass and bullets are more money too.44mag should be cheap to reload and has good hitting power.

later,jeff

Hey Jeff,
Those G2's are nice, been wanting one myself.  Soon as I get one in it's sold, still aren't many available. (At least with the wholesalers I deal with)

The 375 JDJ has been the best selling barrel this year.

Make sure and get a 22 LR Match barrel for yours, they shoot unreal.

No, it's not a straight walled caliber. It's a 444 necked down to 375.

Here's some info about it:

The only thing I've shot so far are 87 grain Seirra's over IMR 4198. Haven't scoped it yet, don't think I will. I'm real happy with how it shoots.
