22Mag point blank range.
« on: August 12, 2004, 04:22:54 PM »
I would like to know where the near zero and the point blank range is for a 40 grain 22 bullet traveling at 1910fps with a scope height of 1.5 inches.

Basically a 22mag where will it be zeroed given a one inch circle 1/2"below to 1/2"above and back to1/2"below.

With a 22 subsonic its 18 and 52 yards then 64yds before holdover becomes necessary.

Near zero at 30 far zero at 80 point blank range out to 95 yards at 100 its about 1.25 low.  I don't remember who posted the link to that ballistic program but thanks to you I have been able to figure it out    Hope this helps out anyone who uses a 22mag for squirrel hunting. remember to hold a little high for close range.

Yep I have noticed  that too at close range it shoots low if you have it sighted in at a normal range.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
