None of the after market mags I've seen people use have given consistent 100 percent reliability performance. There are failures to feed, or, it seems, more often failures to allow the magazine hold open on the last shot to function. There were some after market mags offered without the hold open mechanism, and even these were not 100% reliable. I have seen some write ups declaring that the rifle is not designed for used with a 10 shot magazine and that the spring strength of these magazines messes up the magazine hold open/release as well as providing too much pressure on the cartridge under the bolt mechanism to allow reliable feeding. I cannot argue for or against this, but I have not seen any 10 shot magazine perform such that the rifle functions with 100% reliability as intended.
