Is it legal to mail a butterfly knife to a Ca. resident?  I tried to look it up on the web and became more confused with the "red" states code.

Butterfly knives are not legal in CA, or MA.

I don't think it is legal to make those knives in Ca.? Cold Steel has an outlet in Texas just for the purpose of selling their butterfly knives and some other Ca. illegal knives. I think their butterfly knives are made in another country too. I may be wrong tho. Jim

The attorney General in Wisconsin has ruled that butterfly knives are switchblades. He also ruled against all of the Ken Onion assisted opening knives as well.
