Problems with re-assembly after clean
« on: April 01, 2004, 02:13:54 PM »
I just got a new Taurus Millenium Pro PT-111 with the stainless slide in 9mm.  The long trigger pull is going to take some getting used to!  It shoots nice though.

I picked it up today, took it out the range and put about 40 rounds through it just to see how it fired and all.

Brought it home, and sat down to clean it.  Didn't have much trouble with the takedown really, but i had a terrible time getting it back together!  My problem was with the slide lock.  After i put the barrel and spring back into the slide, and put the slide back on the frame, The slide lock wouldn't move for me to hold the slide open and put that pin back in.

Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Was i doing something wrong?

Did i miss a step somewhere?

I followed the manual's directions, tho i have to say i feel they left a lot to be desired.

Compared to my old CZ-52, this seemed really complicated to breakdown!  LOL

I appreciate any help!!
