technique for hunter vs standard

Is your shooting technique different for your hunter and standard guns?

By this I mean:

Do you hold the rifle differently?
Do you use a tighter grip?
Do you pull the rifle into your shoulder more?
Do you use more check pressure?

Or do you try and shoot it just like your standard rifle?

I try to use the same techniques on both guns.  A lot of the time I will use the Hunter gun in the standard class, just to keep it simple.  I have found that I shoot better if I keep it simple, and keep the same techniques.

The hunter is harder to shoot than the standard, primarily because of a lighter trigger and heavier gun.   I would suspect that most hunters are as accurate as the standards or nearly as accurate.  I have gone to  one gun in hunter because for some reason I shoot it better.  Probably because I have to concentrate more to shoot the hunter gun.

For high power I still use two guns and my technique is the same for both guns.   I shoot a 6.5 BR for standard because of lighter recoil, but use 260 for hunter.   The BR is much milder in recoil but sometimes I  shoot the 260 better,  I think because the gun is lighter and I don't have to fight to keep the muzzle up.

I think that most people will use the same technique for both guns, otherwise it might get confusing.   This is like shooting one gun with 1/8 minute clicks and the other gun with 1/4 min clicks.  If you can keep it straingt they will work fine , otherwise it can be disaster........Don

a different, not so wise man once said...

if you shoot one rifle it will take less time in the morning to screw up your sight settings.

one, two rifles...  it doesn't matter.  we are going to shoot the conard cup, eat tri-tip and mashed potatos until we puke, and play poker all night long.

good food, wonderful friends, fantastic shooting, and dennis dadian changing the rules in poker with each hand.  life doesn't get much better.
