question for omega owners

I am going to mount a leupold 3 x 9 x40 on leupold QR mounts.  Do I need to go to the high mount so i have enought room for my thumb to  pull the hammer back.

I put a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 on mine and used Leopold QR low mounts. there is still plenty of room over the hammer. The scope is close to, but not touching the rear sight. It works great.
