Dead Center-In Knght .50 Cal-Anyone??
« on: April 14, 2004, 05:10:28 AM »
I am interested in working up a load in my Knight Wolverine using the .357 Duplex or the .40/50 200 or the .40/50 220.  Anyone shooting these?  Any starting points would be greatly appreciated.

That's "the bullet" --------------- 90-100 gr. T 7 FFg should be about all you need.

Randy,

I want to try some DC's in my Encore.  I've tried the 240 QT bullets but they didn't shoot very well for me.  I was planning on ordering one of the bulk packs.  From your quote above, is that the bullet to try first?

In my experience, yes. I've had sub- 1/2" groups with that DC in a Knight Elite, it is a consistent 3/4" shooter in my Encore, and both bull caribou were dropped cleanly last year with the .40 / 50 220 gr. Dead Center-- out of an Encore 209 x 50.

I believe a video clip of the second bull harvested is still available free for the download at http://prbullet.com .

I would strongly suggest getting a sample pack before you buy in bulk.  While I have found no other bullet that out-performs it, it does not work in all guns; even of the same brand/model.  For instance, my friend's Encore simply will not shoot them accurately even at sub-90 grain charges.  The gun is sub-MOA with other bullets...
