Looking for electric reloading scale.
« on: April 14, 2004, 09:29:18 PM »
I've perused the offering of electric reloading scales available from Midway and it appears that just about every outfit under the sun offers one.  Does anybody have one they'd give up his first born child for?  How about one you'd like to toss in the trash can?  I'll budget about $150 for this acquisition.

For $150 you can get a brand new one and have change left over if all you want is a scale. I'd get the one by PACT that has the infrared comm port built in so if you eventually want to get the digital powder dispenser you'll be set. PACT warranties it's stuff for life except the "load cell" of the scale because these are supposed to be delicate. In any case, I don't think you'll find a better warranty. It's my understanding the the RCBS scales are built by PACT. Plus, PACT is American made in Texas.

I have had two....first one was a Dillion D-terminator. The next was a low end Pact. By far the Dillion was superior in everyway but it was also about $150 compared to the $89 Pact. The Dillion was faster, more repeatable, required calibration far fewer times and was just handier to use. That was my only experiences with digital scales.

So far so good with my Cabelas scale for $89.  Problem is, I've never owned a different type, so I've got nothing to compare it to.  I guess I'll just be happy for now.  *smiles*
