Fishfinder Qt. Fish I.D. or Arches
« on: April 30, 2004, 04:37:47 PM »
Is there an advantage to having your fishfinder setup to show "Arches" rather then fish symbols?  As I understand it when the fishfinder is setup to show Arches, it is showing unprocess data.  If it is showing fish symbols it is showing process data.  I understand knowledgeable users prefer Arches over fish sysbols.

Life was simple with the old fishfinder that showed pixels.

Anyway I am looking for imput.  Also if you know the links to any good articles on using fishfinders I sure would like them.

Life was simple as a kid.  All I needed to do was walk the banks of a small river for miles.  Dropping my Super Duper into the water and letting in work into the under cut.  Swatting the mosquitos, and taking a swim in the afternoon.  Eating blackberries by the buckfull when they came ripe.  Hiking home three or four miles and not worrying about getting into shape for deer season.
There is a learning process to effectively using a gps.  Do not throw your compass and map away!
