Lew Horton - Patriotic Mexican?
« on: June 09, 2004, 09:06:05 PM »
:cb2: I gotta email from a friend of mine yesterday. He was madder than a hornet. He was on the Lew Horton Performance Center web site where they have three S&W 1911s in their "Patriotic Series." One was called The Land of the Free, another one called Long May it Wave, and the third one, Mexican Eagle! Since he lives in Texas he was really about to burst! A Mexican theme gun in an patriotic American collection. He emailed them, giving them a piece of his mind, and reminding them of all the crime and problems down there on the border states—thanks to Mexico. I looked yesterday and shore nuff, there it twas. However, to their credit, THEY MOVED IT. Now the gun is still there, if anyone wants to see it, but it's off with a Colt 1911 (also a "Mexican Eagle"), but it's no longer in the "Patriotic Series."

Thank you Lew Horton for showing some good common sense (finally). I wonder just how much flack they caught before they changed it?

Not a flame starter, but just a thought, please.  :-)
I think you/we must seperate the concerns of Illegals, no mattter the nationality, from those that are here legally.
There are a fine group of Mexicans/Mexican Americans/Hispanics in this country and they have served this nation well. They are patrioic and brave, have been since since Texas won it's independence from Mexico. Bunch of those boys at the Alamo and a Company of em at San Jacinto.
I like em and applaude their contributions to this state and nation. You will not find them creating nearly the ruckus some other folks do. At the same time there are those who are a real embarrasment to their people, alas, maybe so am I.
Blessings
