Sorry, another question. How many of you guys use blued barrels on stainless frames? I was wondering if the combo looked totaly out of place. I know, kinda a silly question, but i just had to ask! Thanks- Tad :D

I only have one bbl, and it came with the gun, so I dont have PERSONAL HANDS ON experience.  BUT, Ive seen the use of a stainless bbl on a blued frame in the T/C catalog.  It actually does not look as bad as you might think.  As a matter of fact some fancy double guns use dark and stainless to create rather nice contrast.  If its good enough for a $1800 O/U I think its just fine for a $500 T/C.

I saw an Encore with a stainless frame, pepper-colored laminated stock and a black barrel. It was very nice looking :agree:

I have seen this combo several times and each time I thought it was very cool looking.  I would do it without hesitation.

I have a 1908 Brazilian Mauser, the action is in the white (never blued) and the barrel is a deep blue.  Then there's my 22-250 Rem that started life as a 700 BDL Varmint Special with high polished bluing (back in the '80's), the crappy barrel went south after 500 rounds and I replaced it with a Bullberry stainless.

Both look really nice and it doesn't matter which end is blued.  But, that's my taste.  Your likes and dis-likes may vary...

I've got the two tone look only I went with stainless receiver and barrel, brushed silver Leupold base, matte dovetail rings with a matte scope, black rynite fore end and stock. I have this on my 209x50 and my new 243 win and it looks great IMO. Mike

I have  one 2 tone Contender setup and it is a blued frame with a ArmAlloy barrel.  Not bad looking with the Choate forend and Pachmayr grip.  I think a stainless frame with a blue barrel would look great too.

My frames are blue. I have one stainless barrel, which currently has a blue scope. I have one silver scope, but it's on a blued barrel. I have  bases in both shades. I mix and match without giving it very much thought.

I have a Contender Carbine with a stainless frame and a blue barrel.  I like it!

A while back I got a 30-30 stainless barrel for a song and a dance and used it on a blue frame.  I did not like that combo as well, but it is all personal preference.
