Ford 6.0 diesel Dealer Buyback

Anyone here having problems with thier 03 ford with the new 6.0 diesel? Somehow ford is keeping this thing real hush-hush. My buddy has an 03 with all the symptoms ie. diesel fuel in the crankcase, bad injectors,and computer problems. He is in the process of getting ford to take care of it.

I purchased a 03 Ford, F-250, FX4, Crew cab in may of 03.  I currently have 19,000 miles on the truck and have had only one minor problem with it.  I tow a 38 foot Montana travel trailer, all fiberglass, with three slides.  The truck handles to load great.  The little 6.0 outperforms all of the 7.3s (even with the Banks conversion).  I don't know how I would perform in the dirt with a Dodge, but there is no way they can run with me on the highway.  I'm not real please with mileage, I get almost 15 with or without the trailer, but otherwise I'm please with the truck.
This was the first Ford I've owned since about 1979, but I would buy another one.

I bought a new 2002 GMC 6.6 Diesel Duramax two years ago. Runs great, gets 21-22 MPG city/hwy and about 17-18 pulling my 28 foot camper. I have had no problems with it and have been quite satisfied.  Yesterday I got a letter from GMC stating that a problem has surfaced on some of the 2002 GMC diesels. Fuel in crankcase, loss of power. . . . . GMC has extended my warranty to 200,000 miles, but still only 7 years. I drive this truck less than 8,000 miles a year, so 7 years is my limit.  I understand GMC made some improvements to the engine in 2003, but don't know what.

Words of wisdom from a truck dealer.  When a manufacture produces a new model do not buy until at least the 3rd model year.  It gives them time to shake out problems with the new model.  The subject was deseil pickups.

I am not 100% sure but I think I read the improvements had to do with the aluminum head on a cast iron block, which on diesel with such high compression is not a real good idea since as the two materials expand and contract at different rates.....
