who has a 454 Ruger?

I am thinking about buying a 454 super red hawk with 7 1/2" barrel but I know nothing about handguns. I know all about the 454 casull and how much it kicks because I shot one before and also want to shoot 45 LC loads in it. The pistol is used for $568.00. What do I need to check on the hand gun of this caliber? How does it shoot? and anything else you care to add..!! Thanks!!

I have a Ruger RH and a Taursus RB in .454. I have never shot anything but 300 grn. bullets at 1,500 fps. from eather. The Ruger has far more recoil, and I think because of that is not nearly as accurate. I shoot both with iron sights. I did get my Super RH used, like new, at a gun show, for $400 in the box with rings. For $568 I could get a new one around here, Ohio. The RH is a well made gun and with the .45 Colt ammo would be very easy to shoot. The RB is still a 2 hand gun as it weights so much you can`t hold it with one hand. I`ve heard about some problems with Taursus customer service and quality lately, but not Ruger, but have personally ahd any trouble with eather.
