Syn Stock For Ruger #1
«

Can anyone point me to a decent, reasonably priced synthetic stock set for a Ruger #1 project that I'm working on? I prefer the Alexander Henry style forearm of the #1A but can use other styles too.
Thanks in advance!

I don`t know if you have considered it yet but the factory laminated stocks might be an option for you since these are now being produced. Good luck. POW

Brownell's use to list a fiberglass stock for a No,1 made by an outfit in Portland, Oregon. I do not find it listed in the last catalog, but have seen it advertzed by the company in a recent Rifle magazine.

Doc Roland of BMI or PMI stocks of Portland has been making a synthetic stock for the ruger #1 since the 80s. I think they run about $250 the stock is lighter in weight then the factory wood. and they take a bit of fitting to get them perfect. you can also order one from Bell and Carlson, the last place I seen theres listed was in a Midway catalog a couple of years ago. B&Cs stock is about the same weight as the factory wood stock the forend synthetic is heavier then the wood, the last I seen they were MSRP. $119.

I have two of their stocks. One on a Mark X Mauser in 35 Brown Whelen and one (Kevlar/Graphite) on a #1A 30-06. It has been a few years since I bought that one so I cant tell you for sure what it cost, but I think it was around $225 - $250. Though the standard fiberglass one for a #1 now lists at $269.
