Super Blackhawk or Super RedHawk

chris i have the sbh 4.58. I love it (favorite handgun) i did a poorman trigger job. i know alot of people will disagree but for me the stock grips were intolerable. i even sold it once to a friend of mine who shot it didnt like it and sold it back. I put hogue grips on it and love it. the recoil is totally different. Do yourself a favor if you get SBH try both grips before you decide you dont like it. gun is very accurate :D  :D  :D

I also responded to your post in the other thread but wnated to mention that they did a run of stainless Bisley models w/ 5 1/2" bbl for the distributor AcuSport.  They're out of production now but do appear now and then on the for-sale areas/sites.  Many agree that this grip configuration makes heavy loads much more pleasant to shoot.  I've got one (with another one the way) in .45LC and it is now my primary hunting revolver.  Perfect balance and packability.

I have a Super Blackhawk with the 5 1/2 inch barrel and just love it. I think that barrel length is perfect. As far as recoil goes, I have never had a problem with the standard factory grips even with hot loads. Now on the Super Redhawk the shortest barrel length is 7 1/2 inches but you can get a standard Redhawk with a 5 1/2 inch barrel. There is also a world of difference between the two. I also have a Redhawk in 45 Colt with the 5 1/2 inch barrel which I also love as it shoots really good.

if you wanna change front sights it is easier on 5.5. This is the only gripe i have with 4.58.

Chris
I have a 7.5" SBH, and a 5.5 RH. The Redhawk is really a great gun. If I would have bought it first I would not have the SBH. I find the Ruger grips to small for my hands so both are wearing pachmeyers rubber grips.
