Ruger P-series pistol questions
« on: April 21, 2004, 09:27:04 AM »
I never see any posts about these guns and I have a question for anyone who might know.  Are the models with the decock-only lever supposed to be "safe" when the hammer is down?  Is the mechanism similar to those on Sigs that don't have a safety?  I ask because I want to get one of the p97's, but they only offer it in Double action only, or decock only, and the DAO doesn't interest me at all.  If anyone has any experience or knowledge with these, please let me know.

I have a P95 decock only, with the hammer down it's as safe as a DA revolver with the hammer down.
My P95 has never had a malfunction (bought it in '96) and is reasonably accurate. FWIW
