Experiment
« on: April 19, 2004, 04:01:06 AM »
I did an experiment on one of my Turks!
I found a quick way to improve accuracy with
a quick barrel crowning job. I took a round head bolt
(Slot head not Phillips)of a little larger than
bore diameter and chucked it in my drill.
coat it with rubbing compound and "Polish" the Muzzle.
It worked great, I then re-blued the muzzle and it looks
like new. There is a Noticable improvement in accuracy
also. Whole project took about ten minutes.
One of my Nagants is next!
I couldn't see paying for a crowning
job on a gun I payed so little for!

First try the simple stuff.  It's amazing what a little TLC will do just about any gun.  I have saved a number of "junk" guns with a little cleaning and tightening of screws.  Good luck on the Nagant! :D
