Tasco Optima sight?
« on: January 04, 2003, 06:19:33 PM »
Has anyone out there have or used the Tasco Optima dot sight? I just put one on layaway at my gun shot it was a demo model and since Tasco went out of business they put it on clearance for 40 bucks. I snapped it up for that price as I know they were around $275.00 new when they first came out then I think they lowered the price to around $175.00 I will pick it up on Tue. or Wed. I want to put it on my Ballester Molina. I might have to modify a 1911 base to make it fit but for 40 bucks I am not complaining and since I know they went out of business if it goes bad at least I bought it with eyes open and did not take a hit like the guys that might have bought one at the regular price. Had one.  Swapped it off to a friend.  Got it back later in another swap deal.  I think I paid a little less than $150 a few years ago.  Liked it then, like it now.  Goes on anything.  Presently sitting on a Marlin 444P.  Works good (and if that recoil doesn't hurt it, nothin' will).  I've had it on a Glock, 10/22 Ruger, and want to try it on a dove gun next.  You gotta' good deal.  Good luck

I have one on a .38 Special conversion on the 1911 frame.  The sight is light enough to still have the slide cycle reliably.  I believe Midway had some bases on closeout.

Hi,
I have one on a Springfield V16.  It works perfectly.  Wish I could find another one!
I am, therefore, I think.

Sweet guest!! I guess I got a good deal a 40 bucks!! I bought a colt 1911 base for 7.99 and 9.99 for shipping so it was 18.00 bucks for a base so I figure I have 60 bucks in it total not too bad I figure. Jim
