What do you think about the new 500? And has anybody heard of the price? If so please let me know.

I would be interested in one if they were not having so many problems with QC and CS right now, as it stands I would have to have it in hand so I could inspect it well before I would throw down the cash.. I have not seen an msrp on it, but I suspect it should come in around the price of the 454... :D

I talked to Taurus on the phone the other day about the RB 500. Its being held up pending SAAMI testing to standardize the 500 Mag load. They said probably 4th QTR of this year or 1st of 2005 before they will be out. So far nobody has proved the me that the Raging Bulls have the QC problems that some other Taurus products seem to suffer from. Did not get a price from them. My guess, a little less than S&W. The pictures I have seen were a 10" barrel model that weighs 72 oz.

You are correct, for what ever reason the RB line doesnt seem to suffer the same QC problems as the rest, but who knows how long that will last? I personally still wouldnt buy one sight unseen.... :D
