The G2 Contender frame is no stronger than the old model

Contender.  The ribs may make it look stronger but in reality its not any stronger than the origional.  So don't expect any new more powerful cartridges made avaiable for the G2 which will not work in the Origional Contender.

Deaf Smith -

<With all due respect> How do you know the G2 isn't any stronger than the original?   Perhaps you've done some testing, and if so please let us know - I am very interested myself.

If you got your info straight from the factory it is absolutely your right to believe them, as it is mine to think otherwise :)

It is my guess (and only a hunch) they have taken this 'equal strength' position due to fear or litigation.

I'm sure you are absolutely right that they will not offer any more powerful cartridges than before. That would be foolish on their part as the barrels are interchangable with the old frames. That would be a liability nightmare.   KN

gunsmith. He also talked with the Folks at T/C and they gave him some various pressure limits for the G2 frames which are the same as the old model frames.
Second T/C already Has a barrel that they have "fixed" so it only works in the G2 frame and they tell you NOT to modify the barrel to work on older T/C frames its a BP barrel and apprently has a pin of some sort on the barrel luggs that fits into a recess on the G2 frame.  Some folks have already removed it and mounted the barrel on their contender frames and claim it works just fine.  But T/C Specificly says NOT to do this for whatever reason.
Thus starts the seties of barrels that do NOT fit the origional frame.  The first setp in (trying to) making the origional Contender obsolute.

BP barrel

I believe the deal on the BP barrel is due to Gonic Arms holding a patent on the BP barrel setup for the Contender. If TC sold a compatible barrel there would be a patent infringement issue!

Hey Jim,
You seem to be having troubles with your posts.  Example:

"gunsmith. He also talked with the Folks at T/C and they gave him some various pressure limits for the G2 frames which are the same as the old model frames....

Note the word gunsmith.  It seems as if you have more to this sentence, but it is being cut off.  I have noticed this in just about all you posts.  Don't know what you are doing, but it is weird.    :?  You got any ideas?
