Buffalo Bowhunting
« on: May 06, 2004, 09:26:26 AM »
I have researched & inquired about Buffalo Bowhunting the past 3 years & found most out of what I considered a reasonable cost.  Then, this year a place I bowhunted several times offered Buffalo Bowhunts.
In March of 2004 2 of my friends from Maryland met me for this hunt in decatur, Texas at the Sweet Water Creek Bowhunting ranch.  We were on a 4 day hunt on a part of the ranch that is approx. 3000 acres & close to 100 free roaming Buffalo.  We were allowed to take either Cow or Bull if the opportunity arose.  It was fun, exciting, challenging & in the 4 days I took a est. 900# cow my friends took a est. 900# Cow & a 1200# Bull.  We saw many other Bulls of that size and larger. This hunt is by far not a walk in the park.  We were very fortunate. We have just finalized another hunt for March of 2005. My total cost 4 day hunt, license, butchering was right at $1000 total & I got a little over 300#s of very delicious meat.
Top notch in every way.
always thankful
