I have run accrues a factory "limited" Marlin 1894S with a 16" barrel in .45 Long Colt caliber. It has the straight stock, square lever, cut checkering. Can someone tell me about this model? What is its approximate value? Thanks

I didn't know they made the 16" model in .45 colt.
I have the 1894CP (16"-.357). They only made them for two years I think and the price was the same as the standard 18" model, so I doubt if there is any extra value in the 16" model. They handle real nice though!

It was in a limited run by Davidson's of around 2500 units that also included the 44 magnum chambering, The 45 Colt has the ballard rifling. This was produced first and afterwards, Marlin came out with the 1894P
44mag ported model and the 1894CP .357 ported model, all with 16" barrels. If it is in great shape, it should be worth somewhere between
$3-500, depending on how bad you want it. I have an 1894CP and I love it and my buddy has the 1895P model.

The gun you asked about is a 1894/1894S there wern't many of them made. The fjestad book of values has it at $410 for 100 per cent and
$ 130 at 60 percent so if it's in fair shape it would be a heck of a deal,, would not mind having it myself. the value if in decent condition would be about in the range of 230 to 310. Hope this helps. Joe
