Sight-in summary for my Huntsman
« on: July 20, 2004, 04:45:30 AM »
How do I need to sight my Huntsman in? I am using 90gr. of 777 powder and a 295 gr Powerbelt. I would like to be accurate out to about 150 yds. This is my first experience with a muzzleloader, and I need help.
It will be scoped if that matters.

A scope will help. You need to get you gun on paper by having it bore sighted. I start out at 25 yards to get on paper. I shoot 3 shots to see if my group is good. I then move out to 50 yards and shoot a group of 3 and make adjustments. I try to be about an inch high at 50 yards. I them move out to 100 yards and again shot a 3 shot group. I sight in for 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch hight at 100 yards. Once I get good groups I move out to 150 yards to see where I am hitting, usually about right on or 1/2 inch low. I am using 100 gr. of triple7, 2 pellets and 295 gr. power belts Hope this helped.
