Camo stock bolt vs. pistol grip bolt--different lengths?
« on: May 03, 2004, 04:33:14 PM »
Regarding Encore:

Is there a difference in the bolt that attaches the Realtree camo stock and the bolt that attaches the factory wooded grip?

Seems there must be--I just bought a new factory grip from a very nice seller on ebay and was all set up to install it tonight and found what appears to be a bolt difference.

The Realtree stock bolt is about an inch too short for the wooden grip to attach.

Unfortunately, I am also noting that my female threads on the nut it screws into are a little buggered and stop turning after about 3 turns.  I guess this receiving nut can be changed--can anyone confirm this?

That said,  I will need two parts to finish the new setup--the longer bolt and the new nut to receive it.

Anyone who can confirm this or who has info will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

I have found o the contenders that the rynite stock is shorter than the bolt used to attach the wooden grios, The hole is a bit higher up in the pistol grip of the plastic stock than on the wooden one. I don't know why they did that but they did call T/C for spare bolts just tell them what it came from and they will send you the correct one.
Been there done that.

Camo stock bolt vs. pistol grip bolt--diffe

Thanks to each of you, Chris and Jim L,

Talked with TC today and they nicely informed me that indeed the camo synthetic stock bolts and the wooden pistol grip bolts are of different lengths--the wooded grip needing to be longer.

The good news is that they are mailing me one and the other good news is that via at trip to Ed's Contenders and a two dollar bill, I am already healed and could have shot this evening had time permitted.

Thinking tomorrow may work for a few shots.  Now just have to worry about properly scoping the new rig.

SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOO, for those that may need to know someday, the stock bolts and the grip bolts are different lengths, at least from the camo stocks to the wooden grips.

Thanks again,

Mike
