Scope Quandry

Scope Quandry    I have been trying to decide which scope to put on a new rifle and it is a job. The scope that seems to have everything I am looking for is the Zeist Conquest 3x9x40. The Bushnell 4200 is big, heavy and with a poor eye relief. The Weaver Grand Slam's eye relief is as bad or worse than the 4200,3.5-3. The Nikon Monarch would be my secound choice. I have read every page in this forum and these are the scopes that everyone seems to agree has the best optics for the money. The Conquest with the long eye relief and the etched reticle seems to have more of what I want in a scope. Your input would be appreciated                                                                                 [/b]

I HAVE owned a 4200 2.5-10X40 and still have the 3-9X40 Conquest and Nikon Monarch 3-9X40.  I'd say your initial observations parallel mine.  For under $400.00 the Conquest will be hard to beat.  For under $300.00, the Nikon does have really good optics.

I agree as well.

I own all of the scopes that were mentioned, and all observations are correct.
