For 400 bucks I don't think you are taking a kids milk money but if its a gun I'm looking for I would buy it as long as it's tight and in good shape. 41 magnums aren't found on the used market as frequently as some other guns so your pickings will be more slim. About 7 years ago I paid 325 for an unfired in the box 657 hunter series so I don't think 400 is out of line.

Let us know how she shoots.

Be Safe,
Scott

For a new price of 400 bucks I'd buy a few of them.

Get it and tell us how it shoots.

Be Safe,
Scott

Price is almost unbelievable.  Snatch it up and quick.

I am in process of buying a new s/w performance center 657 hunter with two grips two front sight, 8-3/8 barrel and pc case and it is over twice your price.  incidently s/n is 11!

That is a great deal on your 657.

My very first hunting handgun was a 657, traded it for my first Contender(STUPID, STUPID, STUPID). My son now has that very 657. I just a few weeks ago purchased a 657-5PC. My first 657 in 1989 cost almost a third more than  what you say you were told. My new 657-5PC is much more than the $400.00.
Love those .41s'

Buy it!  Or, give me the guy's number.  Seriously, that is an excellent price.  I love mine, the .41 is all the gun I'm ever going to need for deer, pigs, and maybe even black bear.  And if not, I always have my .480 waiting to make flame.
I hunt with a 657 Classic Hunter II, and I have a 3" gun that I carry concealed.  Have fun shootin your new gun!
Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition!

Nice gun.  Last one I saw was about 1 1/2 years ago.  Priced at $475 new at the cheapest place I know to buy guns.
