In Wi.

I would use 7x7 3/32" cable.
Most of the time you can use 1 size smaller cable when you use 1x19.I beleave that in Wi. you cant use nothing but 3/32".So in a 1x19 twist I would recomend 5/64" for coyote. Alot of guys use 3/32" 1x19 for wolf.
After a lot of expermanting.I have been making most every snare that I use out of 5/64" 7x7 Stainless Steel.Usuly I make my 42" snares for NJ. Because of the loop stop law.(cant be larger that 8") and for everyplace else 48".

Newt we cant use stainless wish we could! When I trapped out west in the early 80s used a lot of 5/64  1x19 but all kill poles and crawl unders and thick brush.Even used 1/16 on ocasion but didn't like the way the loop hung it worked good for cats in the thick stuff!yottey
