where do i fish for crappie in winter

where do i go can i still go shallow if it helps i live in texas

well i am sorry to say i havent a clue.  see, up here we are fishing through about a foot of ice right now.   i am guessing, just guessing mind you, that in texas the conditions are a little different.   up here they are holed up in the deeper water,  anywhere between 18 to 40 feet.

I would say that deeper water is a good bet.
