Being new to the indoor .22 shooting thing, I assumed everyone did it the same way. I guess from responses to a previous post that I am way wrong.
Just thought it may be nice to pass along what we do. As stated in another thread, we shoot at 42mm paper milk caps (kind of like a cardboard that they use to use to seal a lid on the old glass milk jars. Some call them "pogs"). Each person can draw a small bullseye, grid, whatever onto their target. Everyone shoots a single shot (standing)at their target.
After each shot all the targets are collected and placed on a a spinning platform. By spinning the target slowly a dial will measure how many .001" your shot is off center.
We shoot 15-25 rounds a night in about 1 1/2 hours. A prize is awarded to the winner of each round. The low score of each night also gets an additional prize.
It is a great time and everyone has many chances to win each night. You use no more than 1/2 a box of ammo on any given night. The first time I went I was lucky to hit target at all half the time. Now I hit it most of the time. My best score is a .070" off center. Good but not nearly good enough for the high score of the night. That score is usually around a .025" and every year or so is a perfect .000" off center.
Just wanted to share my experience with this type of indoor shooting.
