TRUE 30mm Optics
« on: May 13, 2004, 02:09:38 PM »
Excuse my ignorance
I have asked Bear Basin if the Nikon Gold was a true 30mm scope
They replied by explaining that both Nikon and Ziess use 1 inch cells
They also said that Ziess and Nikon are basically mechanically the same.

Ziess claims to have a true mechanical adjustment system.
does this mean they do not use a leaf spring in the tube?

Nikon claims to have 80moa at 100yrds.

Kahles 30mm have 45moa

Leupold LPS has 60moa

Burris Euro has 50moa

Burris black diamond has 100moa

Why should I buy the Nikon gold if it isn't a true 30mm scope?
Looks like the Burris euro and the LPS are going to be my 30mm Finalist
unless i get struck with enlightenment.

Nikon claims to have true 30mm sized internals. Burris and Leupold say theirs don't.

Now I'm really confuesed. :?

I know that some manufuactuers may have a 30mm tube, but that the lenses inside are only the standard 1" - okay, no problem.

However, my understanding is that the Nikon Gold, Leupold LPS, and Burris Black Diamond all have true 30mm internal lenses.

Who are we to believe?
