Shadow gamo need help
« on: March 16, 2004, 01:32:15 PM »
I have a black shadow gamo that shoots 1000 feet per sec. When I shoot it without a pellet in it it makes a crack just about like a 22. When I put a pellet in and shoot it it doesn't even sound like a high-powered air rifle should. Its a springer.
Should I change the seal on it to up the noise on it?
A sheridan pump is louder then this gun at shooting pellets...

Spring-powered air rifle are quieter than pneumatic rifles like the Sheridan.

Also, spring air rifle aren't designed to be dry-fired, that is, firing without a pellet.

Mink,

Listen to what these guys are telling you and NEVER dry fire a springer again.  Gamo’s are not much to begin with and dry firing will end it's career that much sooner, if you haven't already done so now.  Also it voids your warrantee.  Lawdog

I also had gamo and yes dry firing it is really hard on them but mine did the same thing.  There is nothing wrong with it but you can create problems by dry firing it.
