:D  You can go to wal-marts web sight and find some infomation. It also depends on the model you choose. I purchased a 280 synthetic for $200.00 out the door.

I am thinking about getting either a 30-30 barrel or a 45-70 barrel. Any idea how much that would cost.

You cannot purchase barrels only at Wal-Mart. To purchase seperate and additional barrels you must send your receiver to NEF/H&R for the barrel to be fitted to the receiver. You can only buy complete NEF rifles/shotgund/muzzleloaders from Walmart. I do not know the price of centerfire NEF/H&R's from Wal-Mart but would suspect it to be in the vicinity of $180-$200....<><....

Walmart has no H&R in catalog?

Look on the web site for Wal-Mart. Do you see any H&Rs in the price list?

If anyone can find NEF/H&R on the War-Mart web site, please post the link here.  I searched and cannot find it.  Thanks.

A lot of the WalMart products that are sold in the stores are not shown on the web site, seems to be a common trait with chain stores like them, KMart and BiMart.

Go to this page at the Wal Mart site
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=119170&path=0%3A4125%3A118953%3A120218%3A119170&redirect_dept=0&redirect_query=rifles

Then click on this link to download the PDF file that has the special order catalog in it.

Hope this helps.

Missed that, but I went through the whole catalog and found NO NEF or H&R or Marlin on the list.  Wonder what changed?

WalMart catalog
« Reply #16 on: June 18, 2004, 03:03:24 PM »
First post here but just wanted to let you all know that the WalMart in McDonough, GA just got their 2004 special order catalog last week; I was apparently the first customer there to get to see it.  Apparently the 2003 .PDF has the firearms that they get from one distributor.  The Marlins, NEFs, Remingtons, TCs, Taurus and others are handled through SportsSouth (www.sportssouthinc.com) and the approximate prices can be found by getting the SportSouth price and taking 30% off. The neat thing about SportSouth is that the website will indicate if a product is in stock, so that you don't waste a call or visit to WM for them to do the inventory check for you.  I had been watching for a Youth Model .22WMR Sportster and just last week, it showed in stock in the SSI inventory; went to order it and WM confirmed they had just received 35 in.

BTW, thanks for the GBO forum.  I am a fan of many of the fine firearms that the forums cover and look forward to participating some more.

I went to the sportssouth site and it seems you have to be an FFL holder to see the inventory.

Actually, a quicker link is...

http://www.internetguncatalog.com/   which is the SportSouth inventory page.  Use the Super Search to select manufacturer.  Now the WM near me will only order what is in their catalog, so I believe that Winchesters, Brownings, Savages, and the others in the .PDF will have to come through that distributor (I can't remember if it was Ellett Brothers or someone else).
