Don/t know who they have making them, but they are one of the best buys for the money.

I have a number of the pistol scopes and use them on muzzleloaders, Encore and heavy contender loads.  Never had any problem and confident that they way they handle their warranty I will be happy if I did.

I am on the verge of purchasing my first pistol scope for my new .44 Mag in 12 inches.

I think I have the decision down to either the TC models or the Bushnell Elite 3200  Seems that the TC models are bright and durable but the Bushnell has constant eye relief.

They are about the same in price and warranty.  I THINK I understand that you trade eye relief for field of view and a paper shooter would prefer the Bushnell's eye relief while a hunter may not.

SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I guess it comes down to the eye relief issue and I need counsel from you guys which is most important.  For the Busnell, does the non-constant eye relief mean you must always reposition the distance from your nose or do you just set it up at a certain distance and always shoot it that way?

I intend to hunt as much as possible with this gun and paper shoot the rest of the time.

Not trying to step on the Stu's original question, but my concerns seem quite related.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

I am a hunter more than a paper shooter, but don't have any experience with the Bushnell pistol scopes.  I have T/C Recoil Proof Pistol scopes on both of my 44 Contender barrels, 10 & 14 inch.  I am very happy with them.

Do have a suggestion for you.  Get the T/C model(s) that have the lighted rectiule.  They are great for hunting situations in the shadows that you have a dark background and those lighted (red) crosshairs really show up and work well.

You might try to Ed Contenders as he often has the T/C scopes and he is a bit less expensive than other retailers selling the same product.

I have both scopes mentioned and I prefer the Bushnell just because I use it both for hunting and paper punching.  And when above the lowest magnification its just so much easier for me to get a good sight picture with the bushnell's constant eye relief, none of that moving forward and backwards trying to get the good sight picture.  Something else of note is the Bushnell Elites are now offering the firefly reticle which you can charge with your flashlight makes the cross hairs glow green I believe.

I have a few of the T/C scopes and like them.  Their eye relief is not rated as constant, but I can use the gun at arms length at any power setting.  I could not do this with the Burris I owned once upon a time.  I will take the wider FOV over the constant eye relief.  I do not know this for a fact, but the 2.5-7 T/C are about identical twins to the Weavers.  The 1.25-4 (I think) looks nothing like the others.  I bought one of them once and it had a plugged hole in the turret that said nitrogen fill hole and was the twin in looks to a Tasco, it went back to Cabelas.  I only own the 2.5-7 and am very happy.  Ed is about $40-60 cheaper than anywhere else I have priced these.

I vote for Weaver.  Don't they make the S&W handgun scopes?

No matter who makes them they are a good buy.  I have two and am very satisfied with them.

I have a TC 2-7 scope that I would be willing to sell.  I am taking it off the 308 Hunter Package that I bought, and replacing it with a Burris 3-12.
It is less than a year old and in perfect condition.
If anyone is interested, PM or Email me.
