When loading an over the powder card how do you keep it from turning sideways and then the ramrod going past?

Doc, I load my 56 smoothbore muzzleloader with an over  powder wad for a shot charge by using the regular loading rod. It is close to the diameter of the bore and just fits flat against the wad and it slides down the bore nice and easy. Are you loading a rifled or smoothbore barrel?....<><....

I can only suggest adding something to the end of you ramrod (perhaps a dime, a ten cent piece with a threaded center attachment which can be scrwed into you ramrad) that closely approximates the I.D. of your bore. That shoud keep the wad from tipping....<><....

do yo uhave the ramrod with the big button on the end? My t?c New Englander rod has a large end on it for pushing the wads and shot cards down.

You should be able to use a Shotgun Jag Tip that is close to the bore size. You can also get a shotgun loading tip from Track of the Wolf for $1.85/ea plus shipping.

Track of the Wolf catolog pp # 408:

You can view their site at:     www.trackofthewolf.com

Hope this helps,.........Primer
