Weaver Grand Slam - Buy a used scope?
« on: January 09, 2003, 07:16:29 PM »
Local pawn shop has a pretty nice Weaver Grand Slam 6-20 scope for sale.  It has ring marks, but otherwise looks good.

I can pick it up for about $200.  I am looking for a reasonably priced scope to put on a Savage 10FP .308 for long range target/varmit work.

My only concern is the fact that Weaver will only warranty their scopes to the original owner.

Should I get it or should I look elsewhere?  $200 is my limit for now, and I atleast want 4-12 or higher magnification.

Thanks,
Steve

Wait and save your money then. Ring marks mean the scope was in a bind in the rings and could be damaged, the extent of damage cannot be told unless/until it breaks.

Look into the Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15. I have one and they are excellent scopes not too much more than your budget will bear.
