GRAYBEARD OUTDOORS HAS A PROBLEM
« on: April 30, 2004, 04:43:21 PM »
I catch myself going to Hunt Chat and other forums more and more even though I like Greybeard the most.  I'll tell you why.  Your reloading topic gets three time more hits than any other topic, but you've got to scrool through all the other crap to get there.  It might be my PC, but scrooling on Greybeard is really slow.   PLEASE MOVE RELOADING TO THE NUMBER ONE SPOT !!  Who else out there shares my opinion?
Now don't get catty with me Mr. Graybeard because I'm a senior citizen, a veteran, born again (several times), all around ner-do-well and spendthrift.  Logic won't work on me because if it's deeper than patatoes or higher than corn I won't get it.

Razmuz,  it scrolls fast over here, even with the dial up connection.  Good luck.  Dan.

I will also agree too no problem. I have two pc's, dsl and wireless to the second and do not have the problem you describe. I am no pc whiz, I promise.
Find a competent friend to resolve the problem with your computer.

Just bookmark or put this specific forum on your favorites list.  You skip whatever you dont want and go straight here.  Problem Solved.
Brian M,
P.S. I too have a Cable modem, so no complaints here.

MY PROBLEM<, MAYBE ??
« Reply #10 on: May 01, 2004, 11:13:23 AM »
I guess it is my PC.  I'm going to get someone to check it out.  I'll also ask them to show me how to "bookmark" something.  Reloading still should be #1.

When you go to the reloading forum, click the right mouse button on a blank place at the top of the screen.  A window will open, click 'create shortcut'.  You will get a logo on your desktop, and all you have to do is click on that, and it will take you to where you want to go first on Graybeard.

If you are using AOhell or DweebTV I suggest that there is your problem. Get a real ISP and/or real computer.

Sounds like your past due to take out the garbage, run a scandisk and a defrag. The temp internet files get filled up and so does the temp, all the extra baggage fills up the harddrive and slows things down. Usually ends up in a crash.

If you are having a scrolling problem and run Windows XP you can set your mouse to scroll faster or slower with each turn of the wheel. :D

If you're having scrolling problems your video card drivers might not be installed properly.  If they're not, it can cause you to revert into VESA compatibility mode and you'll get no hardware acceleration (and things like scrolling will become very slow).  If you know someone with a bit of computer knowledge, have them check it out for you. You could also just create a bookmark or desktop shortcut to go directly to the reloading section if you like.
