My new hunter rifle
« on: June 07, 2004, 07:12:48 PM »
I finally got some rounds thru my new hunter gun.  I thought I'd show it off.  It was built by Marvin Pearson from Chehalis, WA .   It’s a Rem 700 with a Nesika Bay stock and a Shilen barrel.  He did a great job.  The workmanship is fantastic.  And, the rifle shoots like a dream.

Here are some pictures.

I don’t know if my scores will go up but it is so much fun to shoot I’m sure I’ll be practicing alot more.

Thanks Marv

Hi Lucho, very nice rifle, do you know where a Nesika stock can be purchased, also will the one you have accept  a #6 contour Pac-Nor barrel? The Barrel is 1.200 at breech and tapers to .750 at the muzzle.

Thanks guys;

Marv ordered the stock from Nesika Bay.  The barrel is a #51/2 contour from Shilen.

Will this rifle be competing at Raton? I'd like a chance to handle one of these stocks and get some info.

I'll be there.  I'm sure you'll see several others like it as well.  The Washington people really like them.

Yo Lucho,

What was the load????  Man, you can't post a group without the load or 1k lashings are in order.

Marv The MetalHead does most excellent work.  I'm thinking that all rifles SB and HP should have his stock and workmanship.
All the best,

Dan Theodore

hello Lucho,
It is nice looking gun!
but I would like to see what it is doing at 385 and 500 instead of 100 meters, if you get some time then maybe share some groups with us
 I bet it costs you an arm (or two) and a leg

Sorry I have been out on vacation.  Here was the load I used for that group.

6.5 x 08 CPT Loads

Lapua Brass
Sierra 107 gr. HPBT
30.5 gr. VV N130
Federal 210M

I have yet to see how it does at longer distances.  I'll be shooting a match tomorrow.
