Well, local gun shop has a ultra varmint in .223 for $200-after a little dealing with the owner (was shot a few times by the owner of the store so he was willing to come down from $250).  Very nice looking rifle, and I hope it shoots as good as it looks.  The forearm is touching the barrel so I'll have to float it.  I'll give you a shooting report in a few days- that is if the wind dies down some.  Sure seems like a good deal so I can't pass it up.

That's a really good deal on an Ultra Varmit.  I gave 289.00 for mine.

I found my Ultra Varmint 223 the same way!!!
I was looking for a 223 and walked into a small sporting goods/bait store and asked if they had anything in a 223.The guy looked at 3 hard cases on the floor behind the counter,picked one up and opened it and asked if it was what I was looking for?223 Ultra Varmint.They just took it in on trade and had not totally finished the deal yet.He called me in the morning and asked how $200 sounded?I told him I would be right there.Lucky I guess.
 I would buy it if thats what your looking for.Save a few bucks from newand have a great rifle.

Well guys I have a problem...  I got the gun cleaned it REALLY good, used the rubber o ring trick and "shot" some some 100yrd groups.  Winds made it tough, but I got three five shot groups off.  They ranged from .875" with a break in the wind to 1.375" with a breeze.  I'll admit I'm not a great shooter, but I am certain with a good rest and little wind I'll get less than .75" groups.  I was shooting the Ultramax ammo with 55grn softpoints.  I am going to try some v-max ammo and see how that shoots.  So now to get to the problem.  I am now very addicted to these things!  I'll be getting more barrels for this feller later.  I am definatly a NEF fan, and the yotes are in trouble this winter :shock:  :twisted: .
