.45 acp and is it a pre -64 ?

with marlin and winchester making lever guns in pistol cartridegs does any one know if there is a .45 ACP version planned? it would be kinda handy when i get a 1911. only have to buy on caliber.

    also i might finally be able to talk my uncle into giving me my grandfathers .30-30 '94. (he didn't register it, he doesn't hunt any more and he hasn't locked them up, but insists on keeping them because he can) and one of my other uncles said it's at least 40 years old, probably a lot older. i was told by a friend that if the serial number is under 2 million it's a pre-64 and that if ther number is under 500,000 insure for all you can. any truth to this?

Kevin :  The last 1964 was serial # 2797428 thats the magic number  and as far as the 500,000 goes 505831 was the last one manu. in 1909 hope this has been of help to you. :D    JIM

they make a conversion for a 98 mauser action for 45 ACP and 1911 mags.  I know it's not a lever gun, but you can get an old mauser and a conversion for about the cost of a new higher end lever gun.

willysjeep:  the same folks who make the 45 acp conversion for the mauser also now make it for the SMLE 303 Brits.  HTH.  Mikey.

I'm with you kevin.303. It would be nice to have a lever action in 45ACP. A lever action in 38 Super or 10MM would be nice also. Give it time someone is always coming out with a conversion for one thing or another. I saw in the Shotgun News recently a conversion for the M60 semi auto version of a M60. It is set up as a gatling gun and the handle can be folded so you can go back to semi auto. All legal but pricey though.

legal for you but not for me. my cousin and i where going to build a similar device using a pair of 10/22's but it is banned under canadian law

I doubt you'll see a 45 acp in a lever gun from Winchester or Marlin. They just seem to have a problem with any cartridge that isn't a "rimmed" design.

I never did or do expect anything new from either of those companies. I lay my bet on some established or new parts company. The Shotguns News is full of them. There are new ones showing up all the time. Maybe some guy or girl tinkering around in the garage or gun shop.

There is a guy at work who has some new ideas for firearms. But he's holding on to them until he can get the money to secure a patent.
