Be sure and take it with you turkey hunting. If the turkeys have left the area for whatever reason, a missed shot, the turkeys busted your setup, or they weren't there to begin with, just pull out a couple coyote calls and try your luck. Be sure and leave your turkey decoy out there in front of you. A coyote might stalk right up on it, well withen shotgun range.
I've used #4 turkey loads out to 40 yards with success. Might take two shots at that distance, but I've never had one get away. Also, here in Iowa #2 non toxic is legal for turkey so I have some #2 hevishot waterfowl load in my vest and put that in the shotgun when I change to calling coyotes. The #2 hevi extends the range to 50-55 yards some say, but I haven't shot one yet that far with the hevishot.
